Understand deviation settings in forms

When creating or editing tasks in an unpublished form it is possible to set certain answer options togenerate a deviation when they areselected. The settings allow you to configure the deviation that is generated.

Start from: The ‘create task’ or 'edit task' page in an unpublished form. 

Deviations can be generated by Checkbox/button, Interval (number) and Dropdown answer types. See Create a task within a form for more information.

Deviation settings

  • Deviation type - select an option from the drop-down list. The deviation types available are:
    • Regular: Basic deviation flow for direct action.
    • Regular - Comments Required: Basic deviation flow for direct action.
    • Corrective: Deviation flow with direct and corrective action.
    • Corrective - Comments Required: Deviation flow with direct and corrective action.
    • Corrective One-Step - Comments Required: Deviation flow with direct and one-step corrective action.
    • SMARTask Deviation: Basic SMARTask deviation flow for direct action.
    • SMARTask Deviation - Comments Required: Basic SMARTask deviation flow for direct action.
  • Text description - this is the default option for reporting a deviation. It requires the user to enter a description of the deviation, the date it occurred, to assign the person responsible for addressing it and when it should be fixed by. 
  • Deviation option list - select to enable a drop-down list of deviation options for the user to select from OR to create a new list.
  • Score - enter the score for this answer OR tick the Ignore score box.
