Workforce enables workplace managers to manage shift status in the scheduler so they can proactively respond to any changes or unforeseen events.
Work Center Configuration
Start from: The Configuration module.
-
Select Business Units from the main menu.
-
Locate the work center to be configured in the list. You can enter text in the Search field (Magnifying Glass icon) or you can Filter to facilitate the search.
-
Select any point in the row to open the center configuration.
-
A window with four tabs will open. In each one you must define:
-
Data: Complete as much information as possible about the work center. The time indicated in the Opening Date field determines the time at which the business day begins for the center. It is the one used to group business units with the same start time of the day.
-
Location: Provides useful information to classify the work center into different groups (country, region, city, zip code).
-
Contact data: Define the contact details of the business center. This information is not relevant for the purposes of the scheduler.
-
Categorization: Establishes further grouping types for the work center.
-
Select Accept to save the Work Center data OR Cancel to discard it.
Working hours
One of the most important parts of setting up the work center in the scheduler is the definition of the schedule. A work center without working hours will not have information such as computable time, night shifts, peak hours, etc.
To learn how to set working hours, see Set working hours.
Opening hours by date
There may be different schedules for work centers: one for Christmas, special events, Easter, summer, etc. An Opening Hours by Date is used to indicate when, in a year, to use one or the other schedule. It is important to have the entire calendar with an assigned schedule to avoid errors when creating shifts for an employee.
To learn more about how to assign shifts by date, see Assign opening hours by date.
Notes: There is an automated process that each year replicates the same schedule distribution for the current year.
